|
|
A student’s academic achievement will be expressed in letter grades/numerical equivalents. The equivalent grade point average will be expressed on the student’s transcripts.
* These grades (I, W, AU) are excluded from the computation of the official GPA and do not carry quality points.
Incompletes
An instructor, in consultation with the Dean of Academic Affairs, will assign an Incomplete (I) when the student shows sufficient reason for postponement of course requirements, usually for valid reasons of health or family emergency.
Incompletes must be resolved based on the following schedule or they will be computed as an F:
| Semester |
Resolution Date |
| Fall semester |
Before mid-term exams of spring semester |
| Spring Semester |
Before the first day of the fall semester |
| Summer Session |
Before mid-term exams of the fall semester |
The instructor may grant extensions, and will communicate this in writing to the Dean of Academic Affairs. Special exceptions may be considered, especially for interruptions due to fieldwork or full-time volunteer service.
Withdrawals
Permission to withdraw from a course must be obtained from the Instructor and the Dean of Academic Affairs before the tenth week of classes. Students are advised to consult with their academic adviser previously. If permission is obtained, the grade of W will be assigned.
Audits
A student may enroll for one or two courses without qualifying for credit on a space available basis.
Course Changes
All courses attempted will be recorded on the student’s transcript. Where the student repeats a course in subsequent terms, only the highest grade earned will be used to calculate the cumulative grade point average.
